A conference on care of the critically ill & injured patients will be organized soon. The conference aims to foster the latest development in the resuscitation field. Resuscitation of critically ill patients is essential to improve the chance of survival and care of patients is the most critical moments of life. In addition to promote research culture in the field of emergency medicine and resuscitation. The conference is aiming to foster researchers’ cutting edge innovative ideas.


Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) Emergency medicine department in association with Oman society of emergency medicine (OSEM) will be hosting one of its kind, Resuscitation & Research Conference, at Crowne Plaza Muscat (Convention & Exhibition Center) proceeded by 2-day Preconference workshops, the dates will be announced soon. The Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, as a one of the leading institutions in clinical care as well as academic excellence in the country, is honored to host you during the conference.

Dr. Salah Alghanem, MD, SBEM, MSc HCM (RCSI)

Dr. Alghanem is the President of Bahrain Association of Emergency Medicine (BAEM). He is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and deputy director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Hospital in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He is the Program director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program in the BDF Hospital, which is affiliated with the Saudi Emergency Medicine Residency Program and the Saudi Commission for health specialties.
Dr. Alghanem is a board member in the Crown Prince Center for Training and Medical Education, and the chairman and member of several committees and projects, including Trauma Committee, Disaster Committee, Trauma education and research committee, ED improvement committee and National healthcare committees.

Abdullah Al Harthy MD FRCSC is a trauma surgeon & Intensivist and is currently the director General of the Directorate of Khoula Hospital, which is the designated trauma center in the Sultanate of Oman.

He is the Chairman of the ATLS program in Oman and also serves on multiple boards and committees such as the higher medical committee and The general surgical residency training program.

Call for ABSTRACTS

SUBMIT ABSTRACTS



DEADLINE OF SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS : 15 MARCH 2020

We welcome abstracts on emergency medicine from all physicians & residents. We also welcome abstracts from other specialties related to resuscitation and intensive care such as in critical care, internal medicine, anesthesiology, surgery, trauma, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology etc.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Abstracts may not exceed 250 – 300 words in length, please make sure you identify the presenter in abstracts with multiple authors.
  2. Please identify an email for the corresponding author.
  3. The abstract should be structured into the following sections:
    • Introduction
    • Material and method
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  4. Please submit your abstract in a PDF format using; Times New Roman, 12 pt., left and right justified, 1.5 line spacing.
  5. Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors.
  6. The scientific committee will review all the submission and those accepted will be presented as a poster.
  7. Abstracts must be submitted ONLINE only through this page
  8. For the accepted abstract, a notification email will be sent to the corresponding author.
  9. For accepted abstracts, bring your poster as a hard copy which should be taken back once the conference is over.
  10. The quality of the poster as well as the scientific material will be assessed and the best posters will win prizes
